Ils devaient être à la fois solides et élastiques. Suivant les dialectes, nom de divers arbres servant à faire des manches de sagaies ou d'autres outils : Phyllarthron madagascariense (Bojer) K. Schum. (Bignoniaceae). Fruit comestible, acidulé ; il était couramment vendu sur les marchés.
