  [Sakalava, Tankarana] (probablement de kononkonona : action de d'épier en cachette, de convoiter quelque chose). Annona squamosa L. (Annonaceae). La « Pomme cannelle », arbre fruitier introduit et cultivé mais qui s'est naturalisé dans le Nord et le Nord-Ouest de l'île. Le nom de konokonombazaha (confirmé par les forestiers. S.F. 4314), semble attester qu'on donnait antérieurement le nom konokono à un arbre forestier autochtone, probablement celui-là même qu'on appelle aujourd'hui korofeta. [1.196]
