10 (de Gola : d'une grande ancienneté, contemporain des premiers proto-Malgaches ; comme fahagola, dans les temps immémoriaux). Dracaena reflexa Lam. (Asparagaceae). Nom déjà cité par Leandri et Faublée. Plante magique, se bouturant très facilement. Les piroguiers proto-malgaches en avaient toujours une bouture à bord ; dès qu'on arrivait sur le sol, on la plantait ; elle délimitait l'espace approprié par l'homme où les esprits de la forêt étaient tenus de ne pas pénétrer. Cette pratique est restée longtemps commune à tous les peuples malayo-polynésiens.
