8 Nom probablement récent, donné par les forestiers d'Ambila-Lemaitso. Khaya madagascariensis Jum. & H.Perrier (Meliaceae) ; arbre fournissant un très beau bois rouge ; cultivé comme espèce de reboisement. Originaire de la côte Ouest où on l'appelle plutôt hazomena . L'écorce, riche en mucilage, passe pour avoir des propriétés stimulantes et fébrifuges. Elle mériterait une étude détaillée.
