Explanations in French  [Bezanozano, Merina] (de tokana : un seul ; et dilana : rétrécissement ; allusion à la forme des feuilles). Phyllarthron madagascariense (Bojer) K. Schum. (Bignoniaceae). La feuille comporte un pétiole ailé surmonté d'une seconde lame correspondant au rachis ailé en un seul élément. Chez d'autres phyllarthron la feuille comporte 3 ou 4 segments ailés. Ceci a été très bien observé et sert de base au nom malgache. Nom malgache relevé anciennement par A. Grandidier, Malzac, etc... Bois très dur. Il servait tout spécialement autrefois à faire des manches de sagaies ou des épieux. [1.196]
