When a word beginning with f is joined to another word ending in -na (or-ny), -ka, or -tra to make a compound word, the f becomes p, the -na becomes m, and the -ka or -tra is omitted, as: anaram-pody (anarana and fody); sitra-po (sitraka and fo); tongoparafara (tongotra and farafara).
